I am a doctoral student in the School of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University. My research brings together radio, political communication, social media, and identity, with a sustained focus on Ghana and African digital public spheres.
I am interested in how people come to understand themselves and others through media: whose voices become authoritative, how political belonging takes shape, and how histories of communication influence the present.
My academic background spans Political Science, Russian, Public Administration, and Communication. These fields inform how I approach questions about institutions, culture, public participation, and the relationships between them.
Originally from Ghana, I bring my experience as an international student to my teaching and community work. I care about helping students build confidence, find their voices, and feel a sense of belonging in academic spaces.
What drives my research
The histories behind
our digital lives.
My dissertation examines the relationship between radio, social media, and political identity in Ghana. It asks how identities constructed and circulated through broadcasting continue, change, and are contested in contemporary digital spaces.
Alongside this work, I explore digital activism, source credibility, and AI-mediated communication, including how chatbots shape trust and consumer experience.

In the classroom
Learning through connection.
I have taught Introduction to Public Speaking, Introduction to Interactive Advertising & Social Media, and Principles of Advertising at BGSU. My teaching emphasizes participation, reflection, and opportunities to put communication theory into practice.
I aim to create a classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas, and developing confidence in their own voices.

I co-host Graduate Students’ Den, a podcast that brings graduate students, scholars, and alumni together to discuss academic life and the experiences surrounding it.
